It was an honor to be at The Walk-a-Thon for Smashing Walnuts Walkin' with Gabriella last Saturday. This was the 3rd Annual Walkin' with Gabriella Walk-A-Thon. Let me share little bit about how this organization started:
Smashing Walnuts Foundation was started by 10-year old Gabriella Miller and her family after Gabriella was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor that was the size of a walnut. Gabriella smashed walnuts with a frying pan to symbolize "smashing" her tumor. (If you want to find out more about this organization, please visit their website.)
I arrived an hour before the event started, but so many volunteers were already there to prepare for this event. I know that what I did during the event will not cure anybody with brain cancer directly but I'm so glad that my skill was needed & there was something I can do to help for such a good cause.
